A landmark caught in the act of becoming something other than a landmark.

Architecture pulled apart and put back together the way memory reconstructs a place it hasn't visited in years.

The Rosslyn sign hangs in open sky like it's holding up a version of downtown that doesn't exist anymore. Around it, the building spirals inward, warped, circular, folding in on its own geometry the way a reflection folds in a doorknob.

Street-level fragments anchor the bottom of the composition: brick facades, billboard clutter, a wide empty boulevard stretching toward a skyline that feels further away than it should. Everything above eye level curves. Everything below it holds still.

The piece sits between document and distortion. You can identify the subject.

This is a real place, a real sign, a real corner of downtown LA, but you can't trust the space.

The montage bends the architecture past what the lens recorded and into what the building feels like when you're standing underneath it looking up.

At 18x24 inches on metal, the smaller format works in the piece's favor. The density is compressed. The spirals tighten. The details reward getting close in a way the larger works don't ask for.
